Section 2 is an introduction to group talk to Australia by a travel company manager.
Good morning, everyone, and welcome to Morning Sun Travel. I’m Rick Smith, and I oversee our group tours to Australia, New Zealand, and the South Sea Islands. It’s great to see so many of you here today. As you may know, I’m here to introduce our latest offering—the 21-day Grand Australian Tour. So, why did we create this tour? Well, our two-week Australian tours have been very popular in recent years, and after conducting market research, we found there’s a growing demand for a longer tour. In fact, I see a few familiar faces in the crowd. You two were on our Australian tour last year, weren’t you? Wonderful! It’s great to have you back. And please, feel free to interrupt me if you think I’m overselling Australia!
Another reason for the extended tour is that many of our clients feel it’s a shame to travel all the way from England to Australia for just a couple of weeks. So, we’ve designed this first-ever three-week tour, which will depart in early November, just three months from now. Now, if we could lower the lights, I’ll show you some slides of the fantastic experiences we have planned. Our first stop will be Sydney, one of my favorite cities. We’ll arrive mid-morning and check into the Five Seasons Hotel, one of my top recommendations. It’s been voted the best hotel in Australia by America’s leading travel magazine, and trust me, it deserves every one of its five stars. The hotel offers stunning views of Sydney Harbour, the iconic Opera House, and the Harbour Bridge. And for the shopaholics among us, it’s just a short walk to Sydney’s main shopping and business districts. The hotel also boasts top-notch restaurants and bars, plus a state-of-the-art spa and fitness center with a sauna and a heated outdoor pool.
After lunch at the hotel, we’ll jump straight into exploring. No time for jet lag recovery—it’s better to get moving right away! On our first afternoon, we’ll take a stroll around the harbour and visit the Sydney Opera House. For dinner, we’ll enjoy a relaxed evening at Luigi’s Place, one of the best Italian restaurants in the city. On Day 2, we’ll get plenty of fresh air with a day trip to the Blue Mountains. Take a look at these stunning slides! We’ll enjoy breathtaking views and take a walk through temperate rainforests. We’ll also visit Citadel Wildlife Park, Sydney’s top wildlife attraction, where you can see kangaroos, take a photo with a koala, and admire over 2,000 different types of Australian animals, including crocodiles, Tasmanian devils, and wombats. Speaking of wombats, here’s a picture—they look like bears with short legs! You’ll also see penguins, dingoes, and snakes—lots of snakes. Australia is home to some of the world’s most venomous snakes. You’ll even get a chance to learn about Aboriginal culture and try your hand at throwing a boomerang. It’s a lot of fun!
PauseTake a look at these slides. This is Australia’s version of the Grand Canyon, featuring the stunning Gemesin and Mega Long Valleys—truly incredible. On the way back, we'll make a stop at the Sydney 2000 Olympic site, where you can check out Stadium Australia, the superdome, the aquatic center, the Olympic village, and more. So, that’s day two, and it’s already shaping up to be fantastic. But there’s more! Afterward, we’ll take a cruise along the Parramatta River, passing under the Sydney Harbor Bridge, and head straight into Sydney Harbor. Any questions so far? No? Great. Now, let’s talk about day three. Has anyone here flown in a seaplane? Just a few of you. Well, no trip to Sydney is complete without flying over the world-famous Bondi Beach from 500 feet up. Here’s a shot of Bondi Beach. We’ll be taking off from Rose Bay, which is close to our hotel. This next slide should show Rose Bay—yes, here it is. You can see the seaplane taking off.
We’ll fly down the coast over Bondi Beach—just look at those waves—then head back, flying over Manly and Long Reef before returning to the harbor. As we climb to 1,000 feet, you’ll get a breathtaking view of Sydney Harbor. Check out this slide and the next one—wow! Then, we’ll land back at Rose Bay, just in time for lunch in Chinatown. One of the great things about Australia is its diversity—you can find just about any cuisine in the cities, whether it's Greek, Chinese, Mexican, or even kangaroo meat, which is low in fat. After lunch, we’ll walk off our meal with a visit to Luna Park. I can’t even begin to describe how much there is to see and do. Let me show you a few more slides—pictures speak louder than words, as they say. Oh, and I see the coffee’s here! It’s a bit early, but let’s take a quick break and grab a cup, then we’ll continue with Melbourne, the Great Barrier Reef, and all the other incredible destinations on our itinerary.
